MUSE MY DECISIONS
It is so easy to get bogged down in simple things like "projects" especially fun cute sewing projects. But you have to make a decision to get something done, in other words you must eliminate the other cute sewing projects and DECIDE which one wins.
That being said. I will sew two types of Monster Muses today. Post will come soon.
Here is a list to help make decisions by:

4. Align with Values and Goals
5. Know Options
6. Consider Direction and Consequences
7. Choose

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Decision
Decision

Napoleon Hill in is classic work, "think and Grow Rich, said that 98% of people are in jobs through their indecision. These people never made a decision of what to do with their lives.
The word, decide , in Latin means "to cut off from the alternatives." Decision sets apart performers. In order to be financially free, we have to decide what to "cut off." First, we must decide to cut off credit cards, student loans and other financial forms of bondage. We need to cut off our cultures opinions and our own self-doubts.
Our current culture does nothing to clarify our lives but instead clutters our mind with "data smog". We all need an information diet because on average we take in 3,000 messages a day!
Decision leads to transformation! We seek security and freedom and sometimes we confuse the two. Eisenhower said - "The history of free men is never really written by chance but by choice, their choice!" We all have choice.

HUMUS

What is humus? Humus is the 'life force' of the soil. Humus is the decayed vegetable matter and leaf matter that has been broken down completely. In fact humus is the organic matter that has reacted to the point of stability. The same root for humus gives rise to the word humility. It is in humility that truth can take root. And the revelation of truth is what leads to freedom.
Why talk about 'humus' on the 365 project blog. Because it takes humus to start new projects!!!
In Dan Millers book, 48 Days to the Work You Love. I found a compelling story about a man who found great growth in humility. "It's interesting to note that the same root word for humus gives rise to the word humility, explaining that the "humiliating" events of my life, the events that leave "mud in the face" may be the fertilizer in which something new and great can grow." He goes on to say that his business crashed and he owed more than $100,000 in personal debt. The humble experience rooted his thinking and understanding of business. Today he is debt free i a nontraditional business and makes far more income that before the humiliating experience. "It is usually in the midst of muck and mess that the conditions for rebirth are being created."
I LOVE THAT HIS UNDERSTANDING OF A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS WAS ROOTED IN HUMILITY!!!
Humility defined by the dictionary is modesty, lacking pretense, and not believing that you are superior to others. Humility essentially means from the earth. It does not mean humiliation or shame.
Jim Collins, in his book, Good to Great --- says that level 5 leadership directs their ego away from themselves and leads the company to greatness.
There is great power in humility. It gives us permission to move forward with clarity. A virtue that will transform our businesses and our lives.
